On 1 March 2016, the National Museum Archive celebrated the 170th anniversary of its founding and the 20th anniversary of operations beginning in the Na Zátorách building on which significant renovations have been undertaken in recent years. In December 2007, accreditation was confirmed for the Archive. Over the last decade it has acquired 243 accession numbers, 70 new collections in the nationwide records (445.29 m, with total shelf space of over 3 kilometres (3097.24 m). 15 new inventories have been set up, and another 56 older inventories were transferred into the Bach database. Since 2015, electronic aids have been available on the VadeMeCum web portal, which continues to be updated. Our undertaking of the digitalisation of archive material has continued in force with the help of volunteers, collaborating archives and as part of external projects (e.g. Monasterium). A few hundred archival materials have been restored and preserved (e.g. culturally important archival materials). In science and research, the Czech Science Foundation (GA ČR) Castle Photographic Archive project has been implemented, and the National Museum in the Czechoslovakia era is the latest project acquired. Archive workers have also collaborated on many other museum and external projects. The archive has designed, arranged and implemented a number of different exhibitions, mainly of photography (e.g. 11 installations of the Castle Photographic Archive mobile exhibition), and has been involved in large museum exhibitions. There have been numerous personnel changes. The archive has been affected by the reduction in job positions in 2011 – five university positions and one secondary school position have remained in systematisation. A large number of employees have held these posts, replaced when going on maternity and paternity leave – seven children have been born. In reorganisation of the Historical Museum, the Archive has been a part of the Archive Department since 1 March 2016 – with PhDr. Klára Woitschová, Ph.D as the new head since 1 May 2016.
