This study explores the visual communication of environmental themes through posters during the period of state socialism in Czechoslovakia. It analyzes how these posters reflected the contemporary relationship with nature, what artistic and linguistic tools were employed, and how they differed from other areas of communist propaganda. The text focuses on the commissioners, producers, and creators of environmental posters, highlighting their diversity, stylistic eclecticism, and the absence of ideological symbols. Special attention is given to the Ekoplagát triennial as a platform for making environmental messages visible. The study shows that environmental posters served not only as tools of education and promotion but also as a space for artistic autonomy and the articulation of public interest in environmental issues.
