A complete revised and annotated catalogue of giraffes (Giraffidae) housed in the collection of the National Museum in Prague is presented. The collection consists of at least 30 specimens, belonging to 3–4 species: okapi (Okapia johnstoni) – two specimens, northern giraffe (Girafa camelopardalis s.str.) – 19 specimens, reticulated giraffe (G. (camelopardalis) reticulata) – two specimens, Masai giraffe (G. tippelskirchi) – two specimens, and an undetermined giraffe species (Giraffa sp.) – five specimens. The collection consists of a total of 17 skulls, six postcranial skeletons, five mounted skins, four carpet skins, and five other specimens. The history of the oldest specimens in the collection is discussed in detail. Ten collection items represent specimens obtained in the wild (including those imported to zoos), 21 specimens come from zoo kept animals.
