The article introduces and describes 43 fragments of the early modern private libraries collected mostly by Silesian physicians in the 16th and 17th century. The most important and extensive remnants of the book collections belonged to the imperial physician Johannes Crato of Crafftheim (1519–1585), professor of Königsberg university and physician of Borussian dukes Matthias Stoius Jr. (1526–1583) and town physician in Schweidnitz Tobias Fischer of Croschwitz (1559–1616). Provenance records in the books prove changing of owners of the particular volumes in frame of society of the Silesian physicians and distinctly show the process of scattering and partial reuniting of the used-to-be libraries in the early modern age.
