A Hoard of Roman Coins Found near Sudice by Boskovice (Blansko Distr.)

The article deals with a hoard of Roman coins discovered in 2018 on the Vejštice Hill. The find comprises 12 issues in total, including 11 denarii and one sestertius. From the chronological perspective, the Sudice Hoard consists actually of two different parts. The first one dates to the late Roman Republic period and contains the so-called Legionary denarii of Marc Antony of the RRC nos. 544/14–39 types (cat. nos. 1–6). The second part of the hoard is represented by the Roman Imperial issues (cat. nos. 7–12) from the time of Vespasianus to the reign of Marcus Aurelius who is represented by a well-preserved sestertius from 173 AD. The hoard was probably buried during the 2nd half of the 170s AD. It is associated to the period of the Marcomannic Wars and appears to reflect Roman military presence in the region of Malá Haná, attested by the existence of a Roman marching camp in Jevíčko.
