The archive maps the activities of the Jiří Wolker Theater from 1935 to 1996 and contains around 16,000 items and accompanying documentation. The form of arrangement is preserved both according to the original chronological order (according to the dates of the premieres of individual productions), and according to the type of material (manuscripts, posters, visual material etc.). Complex materials, relating to productions mainly from the first seasons, testify to the genesis of the production and its results. In the pre-war and war atmosphere, some of them took on a deeper meaning. This study presents the various historical stages of the development of the Jiří Wolker Theater and the items that these stages represent.
