A fragment of a mandible, assigned to a wolverine, has been collected from sediments dredged up near Nieuwegein, The Netherlands. The specimen is assigned to the Early or early Middle Pleistocene Gulo schlosseri because of its small size and the morphological characters of the p3 and p4. Fossil remains of this species are very rare in the European fossil record.
