Modern information and communication technology offers many new possibilities for the care of the physical condition of cultural heritage objects. This paper briefly presents the monitoring systém developed during the research project of „Unified modular systém of remote on-line monitoring of environmental parameters of depositories and expositions“, which is being developed at the offices of the National Museum and the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, vvi as part of a program of applied research and the development of the national cultural identity of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic. Special attention is paid to monitoring the conditions of the collection‘s items during transport.
