In 1876 Vojta Náprstek (1826–1894) received from America – from his „transatlantic Friend“ Franz Hölzlhuber (1826–1898) – twenty one watercolor-paintings. Hölzlhuber worked in Milwaukee (1856-1860) as candy maker, singer, composer, conductor and painter. In Milwaukee he met Vojta Náprstek and their friendship continued even after their return to Europe. Hölzlhuber visited Prague several times and in the archive of Náprstek museum we have some letters, photographs and books dedicated to Vojta Náprstek. In 1867 Vojta Náprstek helped his friend to prepare public lectures about his travels in America. The lectures were supplemented by Hölzlhuber´s pictures and accompanied by his songs, played on harmonium, daily from the end of November 1867 to January 7, 1868. It was the first public audiovisual presentation about traveling in Prague. KEY WORDS:
