The exhibition “Wien. Meine Geschichte” at the newly opened Vienna Museum offers an innovative approach to presenting the city’s history, intertwining past and present through modern technology and storytelling. By focusing on contemporary Vienna as the key narrative driver, it brings forward themes like migration, diversity, and social issues, while also encouraging the public to engage in discussions about the city’s current identity. The exhibition provides a multi-layered and critical perspective on Vienna, questioning the idea of who a true “Viennese” is and how the city operates in today’s globalized world.
