Texts are a common part of museum exhibitions and help the visitor to orientate in the topic and to support the understanding of the museum content. The quality of the texts, therefore, has a big impact on visitor satisfaction and appropriate attention should be given to the preparation of the text. This article focuses on the texts of the introductory panels which provide the basic interpretative framework of the exhibitions and compares two texts from the World War II exhibitions. The research part combines a descriptive content analysis of the texts and an assisted questionnaire to enrich the analysis with visitors’ perspectives. The research defined the basic parameters that influence visitor satisfaction, which include the length and clarity of the text. Based on the research and literature, particular recommendations for working with the text that will positively impact their readability, thereby improving the overall experience of the museum visit, are concluded.
