On 14 August 2007, one individual of the garden dormouse was live-trapped at Šelmberk (Český les Mts, western Bohemia). It has been the first record of the species in the Český les Mts since 1980. All existing data on the distribution of the garden dormouse in this region are summarized in the paper.
