The preliminary study of lagomorphs from the Valley of Lakes in Central Mongolia includes 26 taxa of four families (order Lagomorpha). The present studies enlarge the knowledge of small mammals from Mongolia, and support the biozonation (biozones A–E) of the Early Oligocene to Late Miocene continental sediments from Mongolia, which was originally based on rodent assemblages. Furthermore the Mongolian, Chinese and Kazakh Paleogene and Neogene lagomorph deposits were correlated.
