Fund of the architect Josef Schulz, creator of the National Museum building, in archival documents

Creator of Prague’s best-known representative buildings as well as the National Museum, Josef Schulz (1840–1917) left behind quite a large personal estate. Its recently organised family and personal section, stored in the National Museum Archives, opens up wider research possibilities not only for the study of the architect’s life and work, but also for the broader exploration of the topic of architectural historism. The article draws attention to individual types of documents in the context of the testator’s life path, and the posthumous fate of his legacy.
