Bulletin mineralogicko-petrologického oddělení Národního muzea v Praze | 2011/19/2

Supergene hydrated magnesium arsenate, hörnesite, was recently found on the historical Ag-deposit Mikulov in the Krušné hory Mountains (Czech Republic). Hörnesite forms there white, radial to hemispherical or irregular acicular to disc-like aggregates with pearly lustre up to 7 mm. Hörnesite aggregates are closely associated with compact aggregates of primary native arsenic. The powder X-ray diffraction data as well as chemical composition of hörnesite correspond to data given in the literature.
