In the New Building of the National Museum, you can visit the exhibition of the 29th edition of the prestigious Czech Press Photo journalistic competition.
Eight photography categories were announced this year. 236 photographers who submitted over four thousand photos competed. The international jury met on 12–14 October 2023 in the Czech Photo Center gallery consisting of: chairman of the jury – editor-in-chief of the ČTK photo bank Petr Mlch, Belgian photographer Nick Hannes from Panos Pictures, Czech photographer and documentarian Dana Kyndrová, reportage photographer from the EPA agency Filip Singer and director of Panos Pictures Adrian Evans from Great Britain.
The exhibition of the winning and other selected photos of the 29th Czech Press Photo competition is organized in cooperation with the National Museum. Award-winning images and other selected photographs that characterize the past year are presented at the exhibition. In total, there are more than 470 printed photographs and more than 240 images in screens and projections from 120 authors. A rich accompanying program will be part of the exhibition.
Also this year, the Czech Photo Junior was announced for young authors from primary and secondary schools who have sent almost 1,500 photos. An outdoor exhibition of award-winning Czech Photo Junior images was opened in front of the Czech Photo Center gallery in Prague – Nové Butovice.
