The Běšinov Medieval Denier Hoard (Ždánice u Kouřimi, Kolín Distr. 1927) Revisited
At spring 1927, a coin hoard comprising about 250 Bohemian deniers from the beginning of the 12th century was discovered when ploughing on a field near the estate of Běšinov (Ždánice u Kouřimi cadastral area, Kolín District). In the autumn of the same year, about 1100 more pieces belonging to the hoard were found at the same site. Subsequently, the coins were dispersed to various museums in Bohemia (see Tabs. nos 1 and 4) and to private collections, many of them remain lost today. The article brings an attempted reconstruction of the hoard including the catalogue of all surviving pieces identified in the public institutions as well as archive materials related to the history of this interesting coin find.
