Opening of the permanent exhibition History of the 20th century became the impulse for the Department of Education and Cultural Activities to rethink the strategy of museum education. As the contemporary debates on transformation of history didactics suggest, there is a lot of potential in Inquiry based learning. Would the integration of Inquiry based learning be suitable also in the field of museum education? This text will focus on applying of these methods into educational programs for elementary and high school students in the exhibition History of the 20th century, the creation process of these programmes and its possibilities together with pitfalls.
