New records of the northern bat (Eptesicus nilssonii) from two sites on the Padiş Plateau in the Apuseni Mts (NW Romania) are reported. These findings give the first evidence of the species’ presence in a large area between the Ukrainian parts of the Carpathians and the south-westernmost piedmont of the Southern Carpathians where the only three Romanian records of the norhern bat had been made.
