The article primarily focuses on the description of selected clothes received by the Department of Old Czech History of the National Museum as a gift from Bohuslav Rieger. On several selected collection items, it illustrates the development of fashion mainly at the end of the 19th century. Last but not least, it aims to outline the period as well as personal taste of their, mainly female, owners – like in the majority of clothing museum collections, mostly women’s clothes have been preserved.
