Media Image of Privacy in Political Communication in Czech Republic

The article is mapping the media representations of privacy in political communication in the Czech Republic (2006-10). The text is based on the dissertation thesis Public Privacy: Interaction of political marketing and media communication on the example of private life of Czech politicians (1989-2010). The thesis used the critical discourse analysis (van Dijk 1998) to analyze the changes in media images of privacy. Throughout the years, which are examined in the article, the private life became also a form of political tool for addressing publics and voters and create a "package" of their own desired political personality to get more political power.
