Two new species of moth flies (Diptera, Psychodidae) of the genus Berdeniella Vaillant, 1976, are described from the Czech Republic, and all important diagnostic characters are figured: B. desnensis sp. nov. and B. kocii sp. nov. Althogether 78 species and 31 genera of moth flies (mainly Psychodinae, with only one genus and two species of Sycoracinae) are recorded from north-western Moravia; Berdeniella longispinosa (Vaillant, 1958) and B. pyrenaica Vaillant, 1977, from Jeseníky Mts. are new to the Czech Republic. This paper thus raises the total sum of species of moth flies known to occur in Bohemia, Moravia and the Czech Republic to 127, 123 and 148 species, respectively. Data on 226 localities in the Jeseníky Protected Landscape Area and its environs are briefly summarized. Notes on the distribution of some species are added, and the conservation value of moth flies for the Jeseníky Protected Landscape Area is discussed.
