This catalogue of addressees and senders of Bedřich Smetana’s correspondence, prepared in association with work on a complete critical edition of that correspondence, consists of brief entries for persons and institutions arranged alphabetically, giving in each case the years in which correspondence with Smetana occurred, and an index of places with references to addressees and senders. The catalogue includes 592 persons, 266 institutions, and 213 places. It is prefaced by a brief introduction explaining the catalogue’s mission, by information on its arrangement, and by an essay about Smetana’s correspondence; this whole opening section is presented in Czech, English, and German. The publication is intended for those interested in Smetana and the persons and organizations that had written contact with him, as well as for institutions both in the Czech Republic and abroad whose collections may contain information and/or documents pertaining to Smetana’s life and work. Der im Zusammenhang mit dem vorbereiteten Projekt der kritischen Gesamtausgabe der Bedřich Smetana-Korrespondenz bearbeitete Katalog der Adressaten und Empfänger in Gestalt von kurzen, alphabetisch geordneten Lexikon-Stichworten der Personen und Institutionen. Jeder Artikel führt auch Jahre, in denen der Briefwechsel mit Smetana verlief, an. Ein Bestandteil des Katalogs ist auch der Ortsregister mit Hinweisen auf Adressaten und Empfänger. Der Katalog umfasst 592 Personen, 266 Institutionen und 213 Orte. Dem Katalog ist außer einer kurzen Einleitung über das Ziel der Publikation und einer Information über die Anordnung des Katalogs ein Aufsatz über die Smetana-Korrespondenz vorangestellt. Der ganze einleitende Teil ist parallel auch englisch und deutsch. Die Publikation ist den an Smetana und an den Personen und Körperschaften, die zu ihm im schriftlichen Kontakt standen, interessierten Lesern und ebenfalls den in- und ausländischen Institutionen bestimmt, die in ihren Beständen über Informationen und/oder Dokumente zu Smetanas Leben und Werk verfügen können
