As the title says the main topic of the book is history and development of Sokol suits and clothing in general since 1862 till the slet (slet came from the czech word of flocking bird) in 1848. Sokol collection of clothing was designed for the whole families. At first, man gym suits and the uniform for union occasions were designed. Than a gym suit for youth had followed. This suit could have been used also for ceremoninal occasions too. As the voice of women was still stroger, they took their part and they had their gym suits too. It had reflected the fashiond trends same as did their ceremonial suit. The Sokol gym suit had always reacted on situation in the country. From the very beginning it had reflected patriotic thoughts of the Sokol members, their relation to history, traditions and national awarness. We could see all of this in the typical colourful suits. The designers were also designing special scenic suits. They were used for šibřinky (a typical Sokol celebration) or slet's scene, which were parts of slets since 1907. And that is why they can't be missing in the book.
The publication is in Czech only.
