The analysis of the Horní Rápotice hoard provides an important insigth into the structure of the gold and silver market coinage in the Thirty years war period. The hoard ranks among the most significant coin assemblages of its kind in the Czech Republic. Its importance is enhanced by the fact that it has been preserved in its entirety without a single coin lost. It consists of 342 coins issued in numerous regions of Central and Western Europe and of the Ottoman Empire. It was buried after 1642.
