The publication presents the characteristics, description and analysis of the fund of three-dimensional mementos of Czech theatre and its personalities as found in the National Museum’s (hereafter NM) theatre subcollection. This fund originated along with one of the youngest (1925) but also the second largest NM collection. Besides collecting archival material such as manuscripts, photographs, and art work, the founder of NM’s theatre collection, Jan Bartoš, also gathered material keepsakes of actors, opera singers, directors, and playwrights: memorabilia of their prominence in theatre – silver wreaths, ribbons from premiere and other special occasion wreaths, commemorative plaques, medals and badges, as well as items of personal use which surrounded them. This publication presents the fund, which was somewhat left out when the theatre collection was being compiled, for the first time to the museum-going public and those interested in the Czech theatre.
