The book presents the extensive ethnographic and ethnomusicological collection of the sculptor F. V. Foit (1900–1971). This collection was created in the period from 1948 to 1951. The majority of the objects come from the Democratic Republic of Congo, mainly from the ethnical groups of Kuba, Chokwe, Congo and Yaka. The book is accompanied with a CD with samples of the traditional African music, which were recorded by F. V. Foit together with his wife Irena during their stay in Africa.
