Museum: Museum and Regional Studies | 2024/62/2

Through exhibition activities, museums have always played a significant role in shaping and consolidating national cultural identities and values. However, research in the field of museum presentation after 1989 and its critical evaluation is still at the very beginning. The study is devoted to a part of this hitherto neglected area of museum research and offers an overview of the presentation efforts of the Historical Department of the Moravian Museum. Through archival research of written and visual sources mostly located in the archive of the monitored institution, it was possible to track down individual presentation efforts. Historical research was also supplemented by testimonies of witnesses using the oral history method.
