An adult female of the Kuhl’s pipistrelle (Pipistrellus kuhlii) was netted on the left bank of the Dyje river in Znojmo, southern Moravia (48° 51’ N, 16° 03’ E, 208 m a. s. l.) on 25 August 2007. This record represents the first evidence of this expanding bat species in the Czech Republic. It documents the relationship of marginal populations of the species to human settlements as well as river valleys.
