Who was Regina, Countess Swéerts-Sporck (†17. 12. 1866)? An addendum to a revision of the family’s 19th–20th century genealogy

Revisional research into the genealogy of the Swéerts-Sporck family has previously been conditional on the repair of the coffins of certain members of the family interred in the family tomb at Kuks, and assessment of their skeletal remains. Who Regina, Countess Swéerts-Sporck née de Kronpass, was, what family she came from, and when and where she married Joseph, Count Swéerts-Sporck, have hitherto been among the most important unanswered questions in the family’s history, only information about her death having been known. After familiarizing the descendants with the results of previous research, we received some new data that enabled us to identify Regina’s birth entry in Viennese vital records, and the marriage of her parents. The acquired copy of the record of the wedding of Joseph and Regina, which no longer exists in the original form, is a unique discovery; the authors therefore present the complete biographical data of this historical personage for the first time.
