Tašovice near the city of Karlovy Vary in West Bohemia is an often cited and listed pre-Neolithic site in Bohemia. Apart from site 1, which is situated on a rocky promontory above the Ohře River and was introduced into the professional literature on the Mesolithic by its excavator František Prošek, there is also nearby site 2, which was discovered by an archaeologist at the turn of the 1950s and whose importance has increased thanks to recent rescue excavations. The presented publication fills in a gap in the evaluation of both sites. It had to cope, among others, with a different level of documentation quality and the nature of excavations, which, with only a few exceptions, did not cover larger areas. The fact that the vast majority of artefacts were available for analysis, can be mentioned as an advantage. Low settlement intensity from the Neolithic until the Aeneolithic also decreases the possibility that the assemblage could have been contaminated by later, unrecognized chipped stone industries
