The historical collections of the Moravian Library in Brno contain the original chateau library of the family Kübeck von Kübau from Lechovice in the Znojmo region. The family, which was knighted at the beginning of the 19th century, owned the chateau and the estate in Lechovice until the end of the Second World War. Based on the Beneš Decrees, the family property was confiscated. The books from the chateau library were transported to the former University Library in Brno, where they became part of anonymous collections of confiscated German property. Much later, they were sorted and reorganised based on provenance stamps. This article reports on the history as well as the current state of this family library.
