The paper deals with the Union of Czech Journalists (UCJ) and its international activities after World War II. Specifically, it focuses on its activities in the new International organization of Journalists (IOJ) and second IOJ Congress in Prague in June 1947, where the Union of Czech Journalists performed the role of organizer. The course of the Congress reflected the tense international situation between East and West and activities of the Czechoslovak delegation of journalists here clearly showed that the Union of Czech Journalists after the war clearly supported the inclusion to the block of pro-Soviet states.
