The text is focused on analyzing contemporary trends in media historiography. Using the latest production of relevant academic journals, the article covers the basic thematic and methodological issues of media history. Media history is a young, interdisciplinary field, its roots can be traced back to the beginning of the 20th century. One of its fundamental problems is lack of its specific methodology. The first part of the text is focused on topics, authors, methodologies and periods analyzed in articles surveyed in journals. The second pait is focused on articles dealing with historiography of specific media: press, photography, movies, radio and television broadcasting and new media.
