The first record of the Scydmaeninae from the Socotra Island (Yemen) is given. Euconnus (Euconophron) socotranus sp. nov. is described and another, still undescribed species, is also recorded. Geographical distribution of the subgenus Euconophron Reitter, 1909 is briefly commented.
