Acta Entomologica Musei Nationalis Pragae | 2011/51/1

Philonthus (s. str.) hapalemur sp. nov. is described from Madagascar and compared with similar species. Philonthus plasoni Bernhauer, 1902 is redescribed and placed in the subgenus Piezarthrus Lecoq, 1998. Male genitalia of both species and other relevant morphological characters are illustrated.
