Neaeretus Reuter, 1887 is recognized as a senior synonym of Afroantilochus Stehlík, 2009, syn. nov., and a valid name of this subgenus. A new species, Antilochus (Neaeretus) pterobrachys sp. nov., is described from Tanzania.
