The aim of this contribution is to outline a basic overview of the monuments, memorial plaques, war graves and Czech cemeteries which document the activities of Czechs in the Ukraine over a brief period and also the lives of several generations. On Ukrainian land war graves with the mortal remains of fallen soldiers may be found, as may symbolic monuments commemorating the activities of Czechs serving in the armies of the First and Second World Wars; but there are also memorial plaques, bespeaking significant events and personalities. There is a constant effort to maintain, restore or newly establish memorials of this sort, so that they may serve as reminders of the existence of Czechs on these lands.
