The study deals with the collection of chapbooks gathered by the collector Jaroslav Vobr (1939–2013) from Brno. This collector was collecting chapbooks for over forty years, during which he managed to collect approximately 42,500 chapbooks, predominantly including broadside ballads. His collection can be divided into two parts, the first of which consists of a set of 800 blocks while the second comprises separately preserved chapbooks. The study analyses the structure and organisation of the collection. It also examines the extensive records of chapbooks that Jaroslav Vobr created to facilitate orientation in the collection. In 2015, Vobr’s collection of chapbooks was acquired by the Moravian Library in Brno. This study also outlines the method of its processing, which makes it possible to understand how to search for specific prints in this collection.
