The study deals with the different aspects of Czech-Slovak relations that appeared on the pages of Slovak periodicals published from the mid-19th century. The author analyses articles published in five Slovak nationally oriented periodicals: Slovenskje národňje noviny, Národnie noviny, Slovenské listy, Hlas and Slovenské pohľady. She describes the approach of the press and its contributors to various aspects and levels of Czech-Slovak relations in the 19th century. The author indicates the issues dealt with in individual periodicals and draws attention to the fact that the content of the articles published depended on the nature and focus of each newspaper.
