Knihovna Sbírky tělesné výchovy a sportu ...a co jí předcházelo

History of Sokol educational activities, or more precisely history of founding of Sokol libraries, their publishing activities and further methods of Sokol educational work is the starting point of this publication. It was the fund of Sokol libraries, especially libraries of Sokol Pražský, which was the basis of contemporary Collection of Sport and Physical Education Library. Besides the history of the Library of Collection of Sport and Physical Education this publication focuses also on current profile and characteristics of contemporary library fund, in particular on separately preserved whole units of Tyrš’s and Štefanydes’s library and the collection of old prints.
