This book contains the edited version of Václav Stejskal’s diary written during his journey on board Austro-Hungarian corvette Aurora to the Far East in 1886-1888. The diary is supplemented by Stejskal's biography, description of his collections and hisjourney as well as historical events, that took place in the South-East Asia and the Far East at that time. Preface summarize scientific and diplomatic journeys of the Austro-Hungarian Navy in the second half on the 19th century. The book is accompaniedby a maps, photographs and period prints.
